Great leadership is not built overnight—it’s cultivated through commitment, reflection, and the willingness to grow. Today, we are proud to celebrate an important milestone for the entire Rosamond Gifford Zoo management team, who began a shared leadership journey several years ago and have now all successfully completed their work with Michael Sgro Leadership Coaching.

This accomplishment represents far more than finishing a program. It reflects a deep investment in personal growth, team alignment, and the long-term success of the Zoo and its mission.

From the start, this group demonstrated courage and curiosity—leaning into challenging conversations, sharpening their leadership skills, and committing to becoming the best versions of themselves for their teams, their organization, and the community they serve.

Congratulations to an exceptional group of leaders:

  • Dan

  • Theo

  • Seth

  • Tammy

  • Alana

  • Leisje

Each of you brought your own perspective, strengths, and leadership style to the journey, and together you helped create a culture rooted in trust, accountability, and purpose. Your collective dedication has strengthened not only your individual leadership capabilities, but also the cohesion and effectiveness of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo management team as a whole.

As you move forward, the impact of this work will continue to ripple outward—supporting staff, enhancing collaboration, and helping ensure the Zoo remains a place of excellence, care, and inspiration.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone, and thank you for modeling what intentional leadership development looks like in action. The journey doesn’t end here—it simply enters its next, more confident chapter. 🦁🌿

We also remember our dear colleague and friend Ashley, who was a leader of leaders.
