Five extraordinary leaders from the Friends of The Rosamond Gifford Zoo have completed our Leadership Academy training and head into the mentorship phase of their work. Coach Sgro's coach-in-residence academy model is excellent for small teams learning leadership through behavior, feelings and values. We utilize learning agreements in our academies, which are very similar to a college syllabus, so that we understand the desired outcomes of our work.
Recently, Cameron, Sherry, Sarah, Mary, and Andrew all completed the knowledge module and head into being mentored by their fellow academy members. Each of these leaders bring so much love & care to their work each day and are sharpening their skills to achieve peak performance.
The team spent three months doing in depth group coaching, leadership diagnostics, one-on-ones with Coach Sgro and behavioral strategic planning. These five pro's work alongside, with their colleagues and their Zoo Keeper friends make the Syracuse Zoo experience..... The Best Day Ever.
"We feel lucky to have been able to invest in training that supports our team members in understand themselves better. Taking the time to practice self-awareness helps us communicate more effectively and engage with compassion and a deeper willingness to understand. These practices ultimately build trust, the strongest foundation to creating confidence in ourselves, each other, and the goals we have as an organization." says, Rachel Leonardo, HR Director of the Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.
